Dr. Michael Zucker

Dr. Michael Zucker has practiced in Tucson for over 30 years. He opened Accent On Vision in 1991 at the original location of River & Oracle Rd. Prior to opening Accent On Vision, Dr. Zucker worked for commercial and private practices.

Dr. Zucker is originally from New York. He graduated and received his doctorate from New England College of Optometry in 1968. He then began his career at the Optometric Center in New York. He came to Arizona as the optometrist at Luke Air Force Base located in Glendale.

Dr. Zucker has teamed up with many charitable organizations including the Lion Clubs and Adult Education for many years now, offering free eye examinations and glasses for local children and needy individuals.

Dr. Jamie Samson

Dr. Jamie Samson grew up in Glenview, Illinois and received her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois in 2007. In 2011, she received her doctorate from Illinois College of Optometry.

Dr. Samson moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2011 to complete her residency at the Southern AZ VA Healthcare Systems in Low Vision & Primary Care.

To this day, she still works part-time serving our Veterans.

Knowing the importance of regular comprehensive eye exams, Dr. Samson devotes herself to providing thorough primary care eye exams to patients as they age.

When she has time off, Dr. Samson enjoys hiking, softball, camping and spending time with her wife, young daughter and two rescue dogs.

Dr. Kelsey Teneycke

Dr. Kelsey Teneycke grew up in the small town of Watrous, Saskatchewan, Canada. She enjoyed playing various sports and going to the lake with her family.

Dr. Teneycke attended William Jewell College in Liberty, MO on a softball scholarship where she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry in 2015. She then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN where she received her Doctor of Optometry in 2019. At SCO she was a recipient of the First Year Clinical Science Award.

Dr. Teneycke moved to Tucson in May of 2019 with her wife. She currently enjoys relaxing in her pool or hiking in the mountains with their dog.

Dr. Teneycke is passionate about all primary vision care from pediatrics to geriatrics. She is excited to join the team and promises to continue to provide the exceptional patient care Accent On Vision is known for.

Dr. Taylor Hutchins

Dr. Hutchins was raised in Grantsville Utah. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Utah University and Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston in 2013.

Dr. Hutchins is fluent in Spanish and enjoys bringing diabetic eye care to underserved populations in Mexico with the Global Vision
Foundation.

Dr. Hutchins is a singer/songwriter/guitar player. He is a sports enthusiast who loves playing and watching Basketball, Football, and Baseball. He and his beautiful wife Jillian have two boys and two girls.

Dr. Hutchins has experience focused on comprehensive medical eye care, conducting pre/post surgical exams, treating eye injuries, ocular disease & fitting glasses & contact lenses.

Dr. Hutchins has been privileged to provide Sports Vision evaluations for major league baseball players at Spring Training 2017, 2018, and 2019 and is focused on Neuro-Visual Training post-concussion relating to mitigation and rehabilitation.

Dr. Elizabeth Somers

Dr. Ellie Somers grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2016. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry at Illinois College of Optometry in 2020. She also received additional training at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center, Froedtert, and the Medical College of Wisconsin, as well as Jorgenson Schulz and Associates Eyecare Center.

Since starting her career as an optometrist she has practiced in Wisconsin, Michigan, and now Arizona. She serves as a board member for the Southern Arizona Optometric Society.

In her free time, Dr. Somers enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with her husband and great Dane.

Dr. Matthew McCourt

Dr. Matthew McCourt grew up in rural Alberta, Canada and graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada where he received a Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences. Following undergrad, he travelled south of the border to attend the Arizona College of Optometry.

Dr. McCourt has experience providing high complexity exams for patients in several specialty clinics such as; Dry eye, Specialty contact Lens, Prosthetic Contact Lenses, Ophthalmology, Glaucoma and Post-Operative Care. Dr. McCourt also had the privilege to manage and treat ocular diseases for the U.S Department of Veteran Affairs in northern Florida. Since then, Dr. McCourt has decided to return to the state of Arizona and join the team here at Accent on Vision.
